Preventative Care: Better than cure…
Prevention, as they say, is better than cure. And nowhere is this truer than when it comes to your smile.
Here at High Street Smile, we’re all about helping you to avoid tooth decay and gum disease.
Not only will you smile more easily, but you’ll also avoid a world of pain and have a healthier bank balance!
All we ask is that you come to see us regularly – every six months is ideal – and we can carry out a routine check that includes an oral cancer examination, as well as give you advice on lifestyle and diet choices.
In the meantime, follow these simple steps to keeping your smile in tip-top condition:
Brush! Brush! Brush!
It’s the simplest AND most important way to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
Brushing gets rid of the food particles and plaque that attack your teeth and cause decay and gum disease.
Top Tip: Use fluoride toothpaste. It re-mineralises the tooth’s surface and makes it stronger.
Floss enhances the effects of brushing by getting into practically every nook and cranny, removing even more of the disease-causing plaque.
This is really important as the places your toothbrush can’t reach are where tooth decay and gum disease often start.
Top Tip: Floss every day if you can.
If you’re not sure how to floss, ask one of the High Street Smile team to demonstrate at your next appointment.
